Hey, Everyone! I love seeing the photos. You all, and all your kids, look great. All those smiles!

Anyway, for those who don't know, I am the Archivist at the Virginia Room, the special collections room at the Arlington County Public Library. Tom (who does computer goob stuff in Herndon) and I and Elwood the Cat live in Alexandria, only a short drive from Karen's place. Things here are pretty good - however, excitement for us means that we got new front and back doors and matching storm doors. Ooo! Homeownership!

Since Feb. is African-American History Month, I was asked to put together an online exhibit featuring materials from the Arlington Community Archives (i.e. my stuff). The exhibit features papers from Edmond Fleet, who was a member of all these secret societies, like the Masons. It's only 6 pages, and if you are interested, you can see it at Arlington Virginia History - Fleet Exhibit

Not too much of a big deal, but since this a place for sharing........

OK, I finally figured out how to post pictures (my browser was blocking Javascript). These are my little ones, with Ava on the left and Mia on the right. It's great to hear how everyone's doing and see all these cute kids!

Wow - this is fun! I couldn't figure out how to post for the longest time, then figured out you have to be logged in - duh! So here I am... Jonathan and I are still in Richmond. Jonathan is an investment banker for Cobblestone Advisors, a division Harris Williams & Co. - a job that keeps him super busy and out of town alot. We have two beautiful little girls. Lauren just turned 3 and Mallory is 6 months. I quit my job with the state as an Employment Relations Counselor in July 2004 to stay at home - a challenging but rewarding job! So much for that law degree that I really never did use.... oh well! We are extremely happy. Lauren is a bright and energetic pre-schooler. Loves art and music already. It's amazing! She's been an awesome big sister since Mallory's arrival in July - never a moment of jealousy or resentment. We've been very lucky! Our first four months as a family of 4 was pretty rough. Mallory was a difficult newborn, to say the least! NOW I know what "colic" means. But things are great now!

I've really loved reading all your updates! I feel so out of the loop, not living in NOVA... And keep the pictures coming - they're awesome! I will try to post some if I can figure out how to do it...

Update on me...

Ian and I have been married for (gulp) 8.5 years and have a daughter, Maggie, who is 2. We are expecting a baby boy at the end of February. I was teaching for Fairfax County, but I'm a stay-at-home mom now and I work part-time as an instructor for UVA. Life is good!

For those who don't know, Dan and I are living in Alexandria, VA with Aaron - our 16 month old son. Dan works full time and is in law school. So, we don't see him much.
I work part-time for a local non-profit and spend the rest of my time with A. I just can't get over how smart he is and how quickly he learns thing. This is a fun age. Ah, if only my kid could learn to nap for more that 30 minutes!
Hi folks,

It's been a LONG time! I'd really like to hear about what you all are up to. Here's an update from me:

I'm married, with two little girls, Mia (4) and Ava (20 months). When Mia was born I quit my job as a health policy analyst, and became a stay-at-home mom. Peter was working long, stressful hours as VP of Technology of a government contractor in Manassas. He quit his job last year, and we moved to Blacksburg, VA to join a Cohousing neighborhood. This isn't as weird as the name suggests-- it's just a neighborhood designed to make it easier for neighbors to know each other and have friendships, like small towns used to be. We love it-- our kids are friends with kids of all ages and we have a lot of fun.

Since moving here, Peter has been the stay-at-home parent and I've been back at work, telecommuting to the same job I've had since graduating college. It's been an adjustment but the kids adore him. I'm only working 30 hours so I have a lot of time with the girls as well.

Well, that's enough for now. I hope you're all doing well.

Molly

I put a link to my blog on the right. It's just a place where I write down things that I don't want to forget about Maggie growing up (or about the boy soon to join us!). I'm a little nervous about sharing it (never have liked people looking at my writing!), but there it is.

Construction on Barksdale in August 2005:
Good idea, Amy! This makes it pretty easy to keep up with everyone (hopefully).

Just another Tuesday at the library, but if crazy stuff comes up, I'll make sure to post!

BTW, Jarrett is getting married next month in Long Island to a little redheaded girl - I'll make sure to post a picture or two.

Welcome! Here's a place where we can share news, pics, etc. And since everyone can post (not just me), hopefully it won't fizzle out. We'll see...

I was going to post some pictures from August of the construction on Barksdale, but I'll have to wait--the site was having issues.

Enjoy!

Amy
